About two-thirds of Tiburon is water, and almost every hillside lot on the peninsula is oriented toward it. We design and build outdoor living spaces for Tiburon homeowners who want the patio, the dining table and the fire feature lined up with that view, and protected from the wind that comes with it.

Main Street and the Waterfront

Downtown Tiburon is a short walk from the ferry, with Main Street and Ark Row at the base of Corinthian Island. Some of the Ark Row shops began as arks, the flat-bottomed boats San Franciscans used as summer homes in the late 1800s.

Locals know Blackie's Pasture, the path along Richardson Bay and Old St. Hilary's on the hill. It is a town that spends time outdoors, and the backyards here should be ready for it.

Then and Now

A Railroad Town on the Bay

In 1884, Peter Donahue extended his railroad to Point Tiburon and added ferry service to San Francisco, creating the town. Main Street burned three times, the last in 1921. Tiburon Boulevard was built in 1929 over filled land that had been part of Belvedere Lagoon, and the town incorporated on June 23, 1964. The last freight train left the rail yard in 1967.

Local Conditions

Built for the land you live on.

Much of the peninsula is steep, and Ring Mountain is known for serpentine soils, so we look closely at soil and drainage before designing walls or footings. Exterior projects go through the Town of Tiburon, and we confirm which approvals your project needs during planning. Parts of Marin carry fire hazard severity zone designations with added landscape and building rules; we check your address and keep the area closest to the house ember-resistant.

Start With a Conversation

Let's talk about your property.

Every project begins with a discovery consultation. We learn about your home, your goals and how you want to live outside, then recommend the right next step.

Questions

What local homeowners ask us.

Can a pergola keep the view open?

Yes. Cantilever designs and slim profiles keep posts out of the main sightline while still giving shade over the seating area.

Is wind a problem for fire features in Tiburon?

It can be on exposed lots. We site fire features behind walls or screens and size them for steady flame.

How do we get started?

Book a design consultation. We walk the property, talk through how you want to use it and map out next steps.
