Schedule a Discovery ConsultationBrentwood summers are hot. July and August highs average around 90 degrees, and the city sits in Mount Diablo's rain shadow, so the dry season is long. Then, most evenings, the Delta breeze rolls in and the backyard becomes the best place in the house.
We design and build outdoor living spaces for Brentwood homeowners around that rhythm: real shade for the afternoons, and kitchens, fire features and lighting for the evenings.
Every project is planned as a whole, from the first site walk to the final reveal, by one team.

Brentwood was farm country long before it was a suburb. The city takes its name from John Marsh's ancestral town of Brentwood in Essex, England, and it incorporated in 1948. Cherries, corn and peaches are still what people drive out for.
Downtown keeps that small-town feel. The Saturday morning farmers market runs year-round on First Street, the historic Delta Theater is still on the block, and the Civic Center and City Park sit right across from the library. On the west side, rolling hills, oak trees, vineyards and golf courses take over.
Most of the city's newer neighborhoods went in during the 1990s and 2000s. Those homes often have generous lots and a yard that is still waiting for a real plan.
See how these come together in our project gallery.
Answer five quick questions and see the features and projects built for the way you live.
Heat and water. Brentwood gets less rain than many neighbors because of the Mount Diablo rain shadow, with most rain falling from October through April. Irrigation and plant selection need to account for long, hot summers.
Fire hazard zones. Brentwood is one of the Contra Costa cities with very high fire hazard severity areas on the state's 2025 maps, generally on the hilly edges near open space. Projects in these areas often have added requirements. We confirm what applies to your parcel with the city during planning.
HOAs and permits. Many Brentwood subdivisions and active adult communities have HOA design review. Permits run through the City of Brentwood. We review your CC&Rs early and handle the submittal path as part of planning.
Brentwood's record high is 117 degrees. A yard that looks great in a rendering can be unusable if the dining table sits in full afternoon sun on a pale concrete slab that radiates heat into the evening.
So we plan heat first. We study where the sun hits at different times of day and place shade there: pergolas, patio covers or cantilever pergolas sized to actually cover the seating. We pick surface materials and colors with heat in mind, put plants where they will cool the space and make sure the irrigation is built for long dry summers.
Then we design for the evening, when the Delta breeze cools things off quickly. That is when the fire pit, the outdoor kitchen and the lighting earn their place.
Every project begins with a discovery consultation. We learn about your home, your goals and how you want to live outside, then recommend the right next step.

It depends on how much shade you need and when you use the space. A solid patio cover blocks the most sun, while a pergola gives filtered shade. We help you choose during design.
Yes, in a good way. Evenings cool off fast, so fire features and lighting get a lot of use. We also place fire pits so the breeze does not push smoke into the seating area.
Yes. We design within your guidelines and prepare drawings that make the review simple.
Both can work. Artificial turf saves water and holds up to heavy use, but it can get hot in direct sun. Real sod stays cooler but needs water. We match it to your yard and how you use it.
